Psp mod
« on: November 30, 2008, 12:33:51 PM »
okay you guys I have not been in the PSP section for a LONG time and I am preparing to do a mod to my psp that I have not seen done yet...  I want to take my umd drive out of my psp and make it external so that I can just hook it up to my pc at will via usb so that I can rip my umds to it as I get new ones... So that is my plan... Of course once I get the psp stripped down I will install some pretty leds and I plan on filling the Umd drive with mods such as another speaker that is bigger, a internal choto shot and possibly an sd card slot...

alright so if you have any comments or suggestions just leave a reply.

Thanks for the sig dhuvrock2000

how exactly are you gonna connect the umd drive to the pc??  are you still gonna have the psp in the loop or just direct umd to pc

well I plan on taking it out of the psp so that i will have more room for the mods...

I got the idea whenever I was ripping a umd from my psp to my computer... So I really think it is possible I just need to figure out how to interface the UMD drive to the usb so that I can connect it to my pc kind of like a external cd drive except it would be UMD

You'd need some sort of interface in between. Idk what, but it would have to have the correct software to be able to be connected to the pc.

I would just leave the psp as the middle-man. I'd make it so that I can plug the umd drive in when I need it.

maybe just develop sort of a extension cord so that I can open the UMD bay and just clip on the UMD drive.
