THIS WORKS PERFECT FOR GAMESAVES AND BACKING UP ANYTHING FROM THE HDD

TOOLS:

SOLIDERING IRON
SOLIDER
HOT GLUE GUN
RAZOR KNIFE

PARTS NEEDED:

360 MEMORY CARD
2 - 33 OHM RESISTORS
USB CABLE
HEATSHRINK TUBE OR ELECTRICAL TAPE
3.3 VOLT REGULATOR (OPTIONAL)

DRIVERS NEEDED

360 MEMORY CARD IS 3.3V AND USB IS 5V, SO YOU CAN INSTALL A 3.3V REGULATOR IF YOU WANT FOR SECURITY, BUT I HAVE MINE WIRED TO 5V AND ITS FINE.

yes its possible, but not with this.

i can help with what your wanting, msg me on msn. prefer not to do it here.

this only allows you to backup your profile and saves, or load other peoples saves to boost you gamerscore, buy getting achievements by just loading a save.

Aren't saves tied to your gamertag though?

you can use a save from anyone, but you have to get the resigner prog, to resign the save to match your profile.

how you gonna connect your memory card to pc, to back up you profile to pc, or use gamesaves you download fron the net?

i used a razor knife, but i dont reccomend the use of anything sharp.

OK thanks. I did all that, but now when I connect my memory card to my computer, it doesn't let me install the drivers. (I have Windows Vista.)

im using vista also, and the driver install easily.
when you plug it in it should ask for drivers, if not somethings wrong.

i never thought about it, but its possible that some usb cable manufactors could swap the colors around.

if you have a multi meter use this pic, and test the connections

Ok thanks I'll try it again tonight. It said that the best driver was already installed on my computer, however I hadn't installed any drivers.

I'm pretty sure I have it wired up fine though because it connects to the computer.

ok i hope i got this right from what iv been reading. as the xbox memory card is inserted to xbox 1 and the usb part into xbox 2 and a game is saved also saved to xbox 2 as shown in pic so that u can boost achievements or is there sumthing missing

Did you guys do this on Windows XP because when I tried to connect it, the drivers wouldn't install correctly. I was using Windows Vista and a 256 MB card.

I did it on xp, the drivers went w/o a hitch at first!! windows recognised it and then poof it was gone

.. All i did was reboot and manually installed all the drivers again and chose a different usb port and all is good for me.

hey, i tried this, i soldered to the correct places etc... But it does'nt work for me???

I know it gets power but the data wires arnt working...

Help!... does anyone have any idea whats happened?

im going to unsolder all my wires and start again... And then post back!

I was'nt using the VOLT REGULATOR, and i was using 256mb card??

no... after i messed around with it, i put it in my xbox and i went in memory options and it did'nt detect my MU either... so perhaps the MU was :censored:ed???

Hmm not sure. Check the points that you solder to and see if they're damaged.

You can download a 100% complete game save that gives you all the achievements for that game.

ok, I am not one to bump old topics, but I dont want to leave this uncorrected. I have spent about 4 hours to get this working, here is what I have found, if anyone got this to work as origionally posted, please let me know!!

I never got this to work with the 2-33ohm resistors. there are two resistors needed, but not 33's, and they should not be on the data lines. if this is done as it is posted here, microsoft xp picks it up as a malfunctioned device, and will not let you force the driver. this is due to the 33 ohm resistors.

that being said, throw away the 33 ohm resistors. get two 10 ohm resistors, so we can create 20ohms of resistance this 20 ohms of resistance needs to be on the power supply (red) wire. this will bring down the 5v. to where it needs to be. there should be no resistance on the data lines atall. and this works fine. win xp will find two devices, one unkonwn and one security device. go into hardware and open the unkown device, update the driver, do it manually (no search) label it as a usb mass storage device, and for a driver point it at the files listed here. done, open with xplorer360!!

let me know if any one got it to work as origionally posted. we dont want incorrect tuts lying around.

I have built 4 of these with 33 ohm resistors and they all work Flawlssly...

Seems they have to be placed on the data wires white and green.

I did it Exactly as shown in the top picture. I have done it successful on 512,256 and 64mb memory units.

I have seen the pic and I used the resistors on the data lines, and my pc cannnot read the device, I am using a 512 MC when you remove the resistors from the data lines it will read it imideatly. I have will open my card and do this again, but I know t dont work, as I have personally done this, and I have personally tried to reead it with an xp pc, ad it wont work as shown in th pic. the device is "malfunctioned" according to an xp pc. it will stil work in the xbox, but with the resistors the pc part dont work

it does work it works perfectly fine, if its done corectly, the tut shows using two 33ohm resistors on the data lines. I could not get the computer to read the memory card to work with any resistor on the data lines, I did use resistors, but I used them on the power line in. (no credit, I found another tut on x-s) the memory card runs at 2.3v, and usb supplies 5v. I used resistors to pull the voltage down slightly(not really nesecary) and nothing on the data lines..and it reads it perfectly, I can transfer game saves from my pc to the card and back. I did this months ago, this member states he used the resistors as shown in this tut and it worked fine, but I call BS, yes it will ork on the xbox end, but when you plug it into a pc 9the whole purpous for doing this, the xp pc wont read it.

I just got my hands on a 256mb, I trust matt, so what you say is to wire it all up without resistors besides the + wire which needs a 20ohm to bring it to 3.3v?

I tried it all ways, even wihout any resistors, the 20 ohm is precautionary. my pc would not reconize it with resistance on data, without this resistace, your pc will find the memory card and a security device

yea I did it and the computer picks it up with no resistors on the Data lines, just 2 10 ohms on the 5v, works in Xplorer.

Problem is I can't get the xbox to read it anymore??? any ideas.
