I just received word of an enormous bug in the new psp 3000's LCD.

it shows up horizontal scanlines when playing games and it isn't possible to repair it with an upgrade or patch.

sony told that they will not and don't want to solve this problem.

it's a dark day for sony playstation..

well, my school is like the electronics botique. you can find crap so cheap its crzy. my friend got a 160 GB ipod for 100 bucks. and it was PERFECT.

my school has like, 120 kids.... 4 people have a psp including me... I softmodded every single one of them.... my friend screwed up his psp... he came to me for help. My other friend, messed up his shuffle.... he came to me for help.... Basically, I'm the school geek, and nobody here has any electronics they're willing to sell.

My school beats all your schools i bought a perfectly good psp for 20 and it was a slim i have bought over 12 psp's at school ther cheap broken ones with cracked screens cost me 10 bucks each but i broke alot when i stared modding alot of shorts but know i have 5 psp's now and friend bought an iphone for 70 dollars

well cause i go to a pre-college school, its not just 1 school. its like 5 schools, ESS, PV, PMe, PMW, ESN (abbreveated cause i dont feel like spelli ng it out) so ppl are willing to let go of their stuf for pretyt much nothing.

This thread isn't for comparing friends, how cheap you got stuff, making things up to try and fail at impressing, or anything of that nature. Keep on topic guys.

Also, I'm not buying a psp3k anymore cuz of this.
Couldn't CFW dumb down the video quality just a tad so the scan lines don't show? It's cuz of game cutscene vid quality, right?

No, its that hardware, hence why sony won't be repairing it (to many psp 3000's have been shipped out to recall them all). you'll only ever see this problem when you have fast moving objects on screen, like playing wipeout or something.
Still i can't beleve sony allowed these consoles to be sold knowing there was a problem. what were they thinking.

yeah good thing i saw this the other day on engadget, completely changed my mind, i tell everyone at my school about this when they mention PSP, it seems like sony has been going downhill for awhile now

no, it only happens when you have fast video, such as a car passing by on a race. makes the screen look like a 80's tube TV

couldnt you just buy a third party PSP 2000 model screen or take one from a broken or taken apart 2000 model and put the PSP 2000 screen in the 3000 model PSP

Nope. The 3000's CPU blocks the 2000 screen, I dont know why though....
