Planned PSP mod
« on: December 26, 2008, 04:46:17 AM »
Ok I just found out that my slim still lives! So here is the mods I plan on doing to it:

Certain Mods:
Blue PulseVU (LED's in triggers and Jewel if I have enough money for one), with own Power Supply.
Screen replace (not really a mod, but you know. Seriously needed)
Faceplate (What colour anyone?)
MoBo LED swap (Blue)

Possible mods:
Jewel
Speakers in place of UMD drive

I will order my parts tonight

I'm not doing dual nub now due to lack of experience.

Well, I'm keeping th blackplate white, and having Blue LED's in triggers.

LED's are sound reactive anyway due to the PulseVU.

Yeah, I knew I was missing something. This is my first PSP mod so there's always the chance it could go extremly wrong.

Dude your a moderator, and I don't think that position is given out to anyone. You get plenty of electronic skill and experience....and its a PSP there's nothing to screw up lol.

You know, Im thinkin:

What if you had a blue white colour scheme going?

Like a blue faceplate, blue trim (madded bundle?) with white back, and white buttons.

Add white leds to the triggers (keep them white) and blue for the jewel.

A nice contrasting thing. Sort of like what ghetto did (and ghetto if you read this, know that I'm jealous. That colour scheme is wicked.)

But ya. What you think about that?

Hmm. Maybe if I put white in the jewel and blue in the triggers? In any case I would like to keep trim standard silver. And my buttons are see through, so maybe put blue LED's into them. White back blue front!

well ya most if not all oem slim buttons are. I was talking about the under lying colour. So the buttons are white.

When you said it, sounded like you meant you have actual clear buttons.

Still, can do quite a bit with them.

hahahahahahaha i did read it lol
and yes a contrasting color scheme usually comes out really nice but put a twist in it make it unique a WOOOOOOW psp u kno not saying u can't do that but that is wat i would do i did it that way cuz i thought it would suit my jewel i always mod around my jewel or one part of my psp then move from there usually works like that

and for ur color scheme just mix and match see were blue/white goes good and were it don't and it should come together very nicely :victory:

thank u P3nnywise for the sig

Sorry to disapponit ya'll, Most of the plan Is out the window. All I'm doing is direct contact LED's and hooking em up to the face buttons aand L and R buttons. My soldering iron, LED's, screen and wire have all een order.

Hmmm atleast do some led swaps - those are cheap as long as you don't screw up your mobo/pobo.

Oops Sorry. For dual nub, you might not wanna attempt that for a LONG time. You have to solder to the tiniest pins ever and if you mess up, you lose a mobo... Perhaps do a full case swap instead of just faceplate - If you do a clear case swap, although it's not gonna be particularly original, you could load it with leds and get a sweet looking psp without investing too much cash.
