Razor x and the yellow power socket
« on: December 14, 2008, 02:19:32 AM »
Ive been going to do a duel nub convertion for a while and have read a lot of posts and comments. The big question I can not find an answer to is if you need to remove the yellow power socket on a phat psp. I really want to keep it as I can not always charge from usb. Can anyone shed some light on this matter.

You can always move it to a different spot.  Just cut a hole where it will fit and connect it and your done.

So I guess it definately needs to be moved. And can you suggest where to and how difficult it would be?

Like 5/10 Hardness?
You know you can just take it out then Do the USB Charge mod, then convert the normal charger into a USB Plug and charge with it.

Ok so ive not heard of converting the mains charger to a usb charger. Is it as simple as buying an adaptor, or is there more involved?

Ah don't we all. It's probably something as simple as cutting the wires from the socket to the mobo and soldering an extra length of wire onto it. Just a guess so don't fry something following me!  :dntknw:

If it's not too far away from the socket where the plug plugs into the mobo, you really only have to drill a hole and place the plug there. If it's too far away, then yeah cutting the wires, and then soldering extra wire to it should work.

well it is possible :D
http://www.pspgen.com/forums/double-joystick-sans-razor-t141127.html
but you still can charge it if you do the razor x by doing the usb charge mod which charges the psp via usb because the nub cant fit if the ac is in there.
and you can also convert your wall ac adapter thing to work with your usb but i dunno where that tut went :I
