Pulsevu 2 in a DS Lite: Problem with the Switch mod :/

Hi all 

I am new to this Forum.
And I wanted a good starting point on my project.

So I will explain:
I use a Pulsevu 2 and i install so.
the problem is that when I ve use the button to calibrate it, that does not work.
I use the following tutorial:

Here are the photos I took, everything is in good order, the Led fader works and the pulse but also without calibration.

The following video is half demonstration half tutorial, the tutorial half showing you how to callibrate your PulseVU 2 to handle the DS Lites audio, it comes pre callibrated to the nintendo Wii. Be sure to pay atttention to the video and do BOTH callibrations and you will be fine

hmmm it seems to me you dont fully understand what the switch does

if the music pulse is working then that means the chip IS calibrated. Calibration means you set the lowest and highest possible audio levels which sounds like its done.

what happens when you push your button?

my problem is that when I want to press the button switch, I do not get flashes of light.

If everything is off, and I support that 1 in the button, the LED will fade. And if I still leaves support, I do not get the different modes.

it sounds like either a problem with your soldering or a problem with the chip

it may have been sent to you faulty or soldering at high temp may have damaged it, or there could be a short or loose collection

but yeah, your right thats not normal. the areas to check would  be the PO and SW pads, and just to be sure do you have the pulse vu 2 or 2X.

my reccomendation for what its worth is to post all the info you've posted here in the sickmods forums on there site

i never encountered that problem and thus im not much help sorry

I do bought a Pulsevu 2x for DS Lite??

It work? because I've never seen a Pulsevu 2x in a DS Lite..

If i buy this, can you help me for instal it?


PS: i have a Led fader deluxe, but all link for the tutorial is dead, where i can found tutorial for DS Lite?

PS (2): i use a 11W soldering iron, it's not high tempered solder i think..

That soldering iron is fine.

And...that tutorial is for the Pulse VU2 not the 2x...

yes I know, but I compared the different connection and a few seem almost the same between Led fader deluxe (which I tutorial) and pulsevu 2x.

Wwhy no PSP or DS Lite hast been Pulsevu 2x?

ok, the pulsevu 2X isn't a good choice they make it VERY clear on the sickmods website that it is ONLY to be used in an xbox 360

it has two extra pads which are only for the 360 Ring of Light, pointless in every other console. so no, dont buy one unless you plan on using it in a 360, just stick with the pulse vu 2.

now with regards to tutorials i was in the process of switching sites as i wasn't very happy with the atmosphere here so i  moved them to this place

DONT ORDER A PULSEVU 2X FOR USE IN THE DS!!!!!! ONLY THE PULSEVU 2!!!!!!!!

Why would you use the fader deluxe and led fader in union, they both do exactly the same thing??? And the pulsevu 2 you have installed does fading as well!

sorry to seem a little harsh but ive made it very clear twice now that there is no reason to get a 2X, by all means waste your money if you want to, im not here to dictate your life but there is absolutely 100% no point to it. The led fader deluxe and fader point i seriously dont get, they are both faders, why use both? Especially when the pulse vu 2 you are installing does fading?
