my ps2 has a problem... HELP!

hey guys, it's been a while since i was here. well, my ps2 has a problem. it doesn't show the disc icon when i put it in (at the browser), it just keeps on going saying "reading disc". but i can play my games but i have to reset the ps2 and let the auto play kick in. anybody knows why? ohh and it won't play my dvd videos. either retail or my own back ups. which is weird. i tried DVD-R and DVD+R and both won't play. my ps2 version is V7 or SCPH-39002. well can anybody help me?

oh and one question. can the ps2 play DVD 9? kay that's all. thx in advance

try adjusting the lens in little by little i had the same problem.
