I got a warning letter this morning telling me rockstar or some other company is threatening to sue my family for downloading "GTA4+Crack", and no, i remember NOT downloading that since it will never run on my PC in a million years

I bet it was my brother...

that if you pirate it your eventually going to buy it...
if you like it so to them its kinda like giving out a demo.

The only thing about my isp is I can only download 250gb.
a month or I have to pay a dollar for every gb. I go over the 250gb.

There is a really nifty trick I can do, but its small, but I can buy a 16gb usb stick and that might be ok

You know the unused wall outlets. Broken ones,turn it into a secret usb data holder

If you are using WEP on your wireless security it can easily be hacked by a programme called "Backtrack" it is a bootable live cd... Yhhh i saw on watchdog a while ago about companies contacting ISP about illegal file sharing..

yeah backtrack can crack WEP easily, all it needs is a compatible wireless card/dongle.

theres a such thing as forensics... even if you format it the authorities can still see what youve been doing from the bits of info that stay on your hard drive.

just an example...i installed pcb123 on my pc a while back and have formatted 2-3 times since then. my friend chad wanted to use it one day so i reinstalled it and guess what....my laptop saved some of the library files and knew that the program had already been installed. even if you format the information is still there and can be pulled off with forensic software..

if you want to get rid of information drill holes thru your hdd or open it and break the hdd platter to 100 pieces..

Guys, i am using the wireless lan being hacked as a lie so I cant be procsecuted. I have backtrack 2 on my laptop, along with something else.

I have a 500GB HDD, And i have ALL my downloads on there, not ony my desktop or laptop, so effectively, if I can hide that easily, then if they search my house they wont find it

I was thinking installing it inside my tv, and added a RF socket or something similiar like a SCART and make it into a USB effectively corrsiponding to the pins so when I plug it into a PC it works as a HDD

They will never guess that! Since my Wall Socket is way too small for a HDD plus the noise

if your hdd was in 100 pieces it would be trash....hence the information cant be revived with forensics....

If you do quick format I heard information is still readable

But if your quick format it, then do a full proper format via BIOS I heard it will totally wipe it

well i got this land over in iceland if you want to buy it....

i would suggest researching that before you believe it. forensics is a lot further along than you think....

and i always do a full format and pcb123 still knew it had been installed on my laptop before...

if you use a nuke disk and set it up to write over it in all 1's then 0's 35 times even forensics cant retrieve it as the data gets obliterated totally as it is overwritten so many times

honestly if u found out that the cops where comin u dont have alot of time so what u do need to do is bite the bullet and get ur hard drive
smash it with a hammer / drill a few holes in it
yea u lose ur harddrive and some moneys worth but its better then how much there gonna sue u?
and throw it some where they aint gonna look
i.e. over the fence into neigbors yard
or if u have time
go out and buy a cheat 150 gb hard drive and (if u know how to sheet rock and spackle) make a hole in teh wall and put ur hard drive in there and sheet rock it and what not
i honestly not recommend trying too much to back it up
cuz if ur caught with that ur screwed again
so for me id have to do something with my ps3 360 3 psp mem cards 2 hard drives and my lil bro harddrive
so yea lol

Ps3... good idea. Have a seperate partition on the ps3 hdd so that you can boot into it from your laptop, then swap the ps3 hdd and laptop hdd when the cops are on their way. They'll never think of checking the ps3 hdd and you'll still have a bootable laptop to show them nothing's there.

thats the reason you cant just install windows on a lappy hen remove the Hard Drive and put the lappy hard drive in the ps3 and boot windows.

Reformating the HDD only allows the files to be overwritten, the only way to wipe a HDD is to have a program completely fill the HDD with random nothing and wipe the blank info out a few times.

ha that happened to me once... I got in trouble for "downloading the movie jumper" they threatened to sue me for 15 million. It was rather humorous becuase I never have downloaded movies illegaly...

but ive never gotten caught with any of the stuff on any of my computers or my friends. and when i download i dont just stop with one thing.

i have download moods where all i feel like doing is downloading stuff. wether it be computer apps. psp stuff. or movies and music

IMO. i think the hammer + HDD is the easiest way out to me

but the hidden usb wall idea is pretty interesting
