Party Chat......good or bad

I read an article on maxconsole.com today about how the NXE party chat changes have made "cheating" easier in games like COD and Gears of War.

The said "cheating" takes place in game modes like Search and Destroy on COD where the dead members of the team are not supposed to talk to the live members as they can give them information to them in order to sway the outcome of the match. Now it is true that cell phones and skype have been doing this for a while, it seems that with the new chat options it is even simpler to achieve this advantage.
 
IMHO I think that there is a bigger issue and that is that no one plays with general chat anymore and the whole multi-player experience is taking a step backwards.

Anyone have any thoughts about the new chat setup?

Yea I see what your Saying, but Party chat is Funny as hell when its a bunch of friends.. But If I can Help My team mates (friends) I will, NXE party chat rocks half the time I don't Use Game chat cause Im always talking to Friends in party chat. its Fun. chives if your in a party chat With me Bud Skullmaster nic0 1sniper and some other Friends you Would like it more, if you like the way we joke around.

Alright That being said and making no sence what so ever.. Yes its True The NXE Party Chat Ruined a lot of community Features on XBL But it also Brings Friends Closer(sorta), Tho yes Cheating can be used But half  the Time who's really cheating In a Game your like Oh s :censored: t behind you. or hey theirs 2 left Near the Entrance. Its Natural to talk about whats going on, Yea Cheating-Talking to friends what ever you want to call it, Its all fun...Tho I don't cheat when I'm dead I just talk to friends, But if I'm alive and I see some one coming up on a teammate I say something or Kill him. But before the NXE party chat I mostly Kept to my self when Playing online..

problem with game chat is 80% of the time you have some 10 year old screaming down the mic or thats my experience so i prefer party chat

yup, the cheating thing doesn't really bother me as it was always there.  I guess the advantages of having party chat outweigh the hit that game chat has taken. 2 months ago I probably would have complained about only having 2 people in private chat so chalk it up to a case of taking the good with the bad.

I guess I need to get GOW2 so I can play with u jokers more....hahaha :drunk:

I think party chat should turn off when you hit the game and turn back on when you get back to the lobby's.  It's almost annoying how there's that many less people to talk to now than before, which makes it harder to make new friends...

haha, I have a new gripe about the party chat...........it seems that for a couple of my less then computer savvy friends that the concept of private chat, party chat, and game chat is a bit too advanced.  I am sick of going into private chat to explain how to get into party chat.

wouldn't party chat be enough, why is there still private chat?

(I am starting to think these people I speak of are lucky they got there xbox's hooked up to the internet as they are old (30ish) and not very good with technology)

I guess it has its advantages and disadvantages. But I agree with Mendez having 10 year old kids acting "gangsta" really annoys me. But you can always agree with your team to just mute the other team so then you eliminate cheating and you only talk amongst your friends.

i like the new party chat. bsing with my friends while taking on some kids in s&d is a lot of fun. it does make it easyer to play games like search and destroy but i dont really see it as cheating more of a perk i might say. playing with a group of friends is way easyer.
