Identifying Motherboard
« on: January 05, 2009, 06:41:39 PM »
I have a damaged "fat" with no sound...thinking of replacing the sound/wifi board. How can I identify my motherboard to make sure I buy the right sound/wifi board?

Or you can put a pandora in it and check if you don't want to open it.

If you mean that there is no sound out of the speakers, then you are wrong. Replacing the wifi board will do nothing to fix the sound coming from the speakers. If the problem is that there is no sound from the headphones, then you are correct. Replacing the wifi board should fix it.

And hto DubbleDutch, if your pic is correct, then I have a TA-82 motherboard. I never knew:)

there are wierd things that happen with wrong wifi and mobo combinations. I know a Ta-079 mobo with a Ta-082 wifi board, sound will only play out of the speakers if you have headphones plugged in.
