« on: December 02, 2008, 04:07:28 AM »
someone was petty enough to delete my first request... but anyway

anyone have ideas on how to fix its buggyness? some of my saves wont load and it just crashes

its a good game... when it works... i read elsewhere to disable some sort of audio codec in another program, tried that

another place said to play it windowed and it will never crash, and i tried that,

niether work, so, any ideas?

I personally only had one freeze in the game (locked the pc with [win]+L) but I know my room mate had a few freezes.  He just reinstalled the game and updated video card drivers and never had a problem after that.

well i just updated my driver to a new awesome one about a week ago (its super awesome, in fact..)

i might reinstall though..despite another..what, 3 hours of downloading (but steam is steam

as for my crashes, they aren't random. only when i try to load a certain save, or 'sometimes' when i level up and choose my upped stats...

they should have updated the engine better, as its the gamebreyo (sp?), same as oblivion.. which had its issues as well

Well Noah, I understand what your Saying it happen to me. Via the Steam Copy I didn't find away around it at all. SO i downloaded a Different copy From Demonoid (I bought the Game and it didn't Work, Aslo I don't think it was wrong to download the copy on account the One from Steam didn't Work) and used A patched Released by the Same Group. Some guns don't have Sound But It never Crashed on me.

I think this might help, works well for me, right click on it, select run in compatibility for xp if you running on vista, then on next tab fallout3.exe must be running by admin, so select the exe file, make it admin.

this happens mostly on cracked version, I got one genuine no bug at all, meanwhile in the same pc, cracked fallout3 not good but trouble,

well, try me method, perhaps it could help..

works well in my pc..

I've scoured the internet for a solution and that didn't work
And yes, mine is 'genuine' as I paid for it via steam

That could actually by the problem, steam is the only app I've ever had trouble running on Vista.  It takes me 3-4 shots just to get TF2 running sometimes.

Yes it is from the internet, but today I've looked at bethesda forum, the patch for fallout 3 PS3 coming soon, patch for PC may take longer..

I got one on steam, running mostly fine, sometimes down because heavy loading..
It's just because bethesda using some sort of different engine applied to fallout3 graphics..

Here some tips from me:

1. obviously lower the graphic quality
2. avoid looking huge area / environment, if you need to walk long, try looking down
3. avoid doing action that make smoke effect
4. when walking up down the hill, try not looking forward
