Thumbstick led?

I was wondering if i can do this mod

i dont see why you couldnt do that with a 360 controller but i dont know how bright it would shine through. It would look nice, have it on both sticks and the d pad. just might try this to do it 2morrow.

you might have to shave a little so the lite shines through a bit more.

Double Post on my part but in that link that i put up in the tutorial he doesn't use a resistor.
Do i need to use one in the 360 controller or do i not?

that depends on what leds you are useing and where you are geting your power from. there are led resistor calculators all over the net. still havnt got around to doing it been a little busy.

Looks good on the nunchuck, but I doubt it would work on the xbox controller, it's a bit too opaque. That is of course IMHO, I would love to be proved wrong.

if it comes down to it i will take the numchuck thumbstick and add it to the 360's with a different top lol

i have actually lit up my 360 thumb sticks. I found the thumb sticks in an logetic wireless xbox controller which has black on the top and clear green on the bottom, ill post a pic when i can.

and maybe a resistor still not sure:-/ (depending upon the led voltage i believe haha)

Heck you could just make a mold out of the old ones then make a cast from poly resin

make a 2 part mold out of this

you should make a cast of orignal stick and make clear ones :D
