Which Mod??
« on: March 10, 2009, 06:46:26 PM »
When not being the most experienced solder-er in the world, i'd want to know what mod is best for my type of game playing.

  • have matrix board
  • don't exactly need anything toned down for CoD5

I know the momentary switch and soldering two wires to the middle pin trigger and the led thing is the easiest, but i was wondering if methods like this one

are faster and better than the easy one

If those aren't the best im all for buying a kit from the shop i just want to know whats the best bang for the buck

neither of those are really worth it, they both break pretty easily.

i say you just get a chip from the shop once it opens back up.

the first one is a 555 circut. there is alot of soldering involved to get this assembled, but I have never had one break..LOL
the second is a nochip mod, which I would strongly recomend you stay away from, there are so many things that could go wrong. and over prolonged use I beilieve it will lead to premature controler death (kind of like smoking LOL)

I agree with ichagowill the cod4 wrapid reload is nice. but not good for cod5. I use a 4 mode chip, set up for my 4 fav games.

best of luck to you, when you solder to the led, apply solder to the wire first (a small glob) hold the wire to the solder pad of the led and just touch the tip of your iron to the blob of solder.  JUST TOUCH IT dont hold the iron here too long. let me know if you need more direction.
