How to know slim is hackable before buying?

My phat broke and I've decided to not eat for a week so I can pay for a new psp. I don't wanna end up with a ta-88 motherboard or whichever one is unhackable, so is there a way to tell from the serial number on the box or something like that?

If you find letters like: NP,NPA,A,B,C,D,E,F,G you can still hack your PSP...
Every letter over G are the new unhackble psp...

Edit: I can't think of any store around here that'll actually give me a chance to inspect the box. The  at Best Buy and Target run them up to the registers for you. Any ideas? or if it's wrong just return it?

Just ask if you can see the box before thy run it up.... I doubt they will mind.

wow i went to 3 stores in my area and none of the psp 2000 boxes have that kind of barcode on them i will have to check again but they only have the upc code not any of the other numbers
