New Computer Desk Lamp (Not sure where to put this mod.....)

Here a mod i did that actually came out really good. I havent seen this done yet, and I dont know how many of you guys have heard of the energy drink called BAWLS ( www.bawls.com )
but i decided to make a lamp out of one of the bottles using a 3v battery, an potentiomenter, and a 0603 Blue LED (due to larger lens light spread, and brightness)

Here it is....

You should fill it with some kind of organic oil to diffuse the light better, it would also make it more sturdy.

im going to build another one out of a Guarnaxxx (clear) one and use 2 Red 0603s ill make a tutorial!

i would but i dont want to have to deal with the oil if i ever want to take it out and stuff, and if the bottle were to ever fall (idk why it would but still....) , the battery need to be replaced, or something  i wouldnt want oil everywhere, i might try it though, ill take it into consideration.

exactly, ill have the tutorial finished this weekend, i havent had time to do it, because all i have right now is my Ubuntu Laptop to work with, my room is being remodeled in my house.. itll be done tomorrow and ill post the tutorial ASPA!!!!!

Why the hell would you use a 3mm LED, on the next one im going to use 2 SMDs.
And the reason they're asking for a tutorial, is because you cant see whats under the wire wrapping, ive got a few tricks up my sleeve.

USB power would be good if the battery was rechargeable, or you werent planning on moving it around. But this is a portable lamp... I move mine around ALL THE TIME!

hell yeah.

and you mean if the battery WASNT rechargable right?

no, if the battery i used was a recharable battery, you could have it hooked up to USB to charge it, if the battery goes dead, or leave it plugged in all the time and leave it on all the time

ya would be cool if it was a rechargable battery and you could just plug it to the usb to charge it when you needed. but ya either way pretty nice, if how bright is it really. does it actually light alot up or is it more for looks?
