Cutting Switch....
« on: February 14, 2009, 07:24:51 AM »
Hi. I've been attempting to cut this 8 way DIL switch. There's a picture of it below. It doesn't seem to be working too well with a knife.
Does anybody here know the best way to cut these annoying switches?

Eek, I don't have a dremel. Are there any other methods?

Drwmmel would be by far the best. You cam get one at your hardware store for not to much money.

Also you could try heating up the knife. When I was at my hobby shop a bit ago they had a tool that could come in handy. It was like a soldering iron with an exacto blade tip. It was made for cutting foam and plastic parts so it should work. It was 30 watt so it should get plenty hot enough. Best of all it was only like $8.

If you happened to have a hack saw, this can also do the job but you need to have a steady hand. Is not that hard.
