12F683
Hazer opensource code modified for COD:WAW
hex file named RF.hex

programmer built from specs on this site
hardware detected fine
reads pic ok

as soon is i go to program, it erases the pic, and when programming code the error pops up, i click okay then it closes

I had a the same error when I was trying to program.  Why type of computer are you using ?  I had this error with the serial port on my laptop even with the 5v supplied from usb.  as soon as I tried it on a desktop it worked flawlessly.

I'm running on WinXP and did not build the programmer with the usb power supply.  The programmer worked for a week and was able to program around 10-12 chips.  Then when i went to program a few more earlier this week this error popped up.

i also noticed now that the hardware can not be detected and when i go to the hardware menu, COM1 (my serial port) isn't even listed anymore

sounds like you damaaged the programmer somehow. open win pic, put a programed chip in it and try to read the code back off the chip. if that works the programmer is good, if not build a new one.

if it works and you cant program, I would first ask if you moved the source file, check the pile path, make sure its under 32?? characters long. copy and paste the whole error message, not just the one line

issue resolved.  I did a system restore to when i knew the programmer was working.  i did notice that the driver winpic800 provided somehow changed to some other driver and was not allowing me to program.
