Would this work if I wired up an LED to the nub and glued it there?
Would anything happen?
You'd have to use really flexible wire, right?

You could but you wouldn't see it very well, also I don't think it would fit in that spot and I don't know if it would fit there with the faceplate.

The light would barely shine through the hole, is what Im looking for.
And that space is empty when the face plate is on.

Probably won't work, sorry.

Even if it did the wires would most likely cause the analog to drift.

not if you do it right
i would try it
but leave a lil extra wire so that when the analog moves it doesn't effect the led to much
