Which CFW to use? also CFW VS. Undilute Platinum Chip
« on: March 18, 2009, 07:42:17 PM »
Noob speaking please bare with me.  Okay first of all Im just getting into the whole CFW seen and I was wondering what version you guys recomend.  Second, right now I have a slim that I upgraded to sony's 5.00 or 5.01 ( psp is in pieces right now and cant remember which) before i knew about CFW.  So as far as I know that means at least for now I cant get CFW.  So the other day a mod chip by the name the Undiluted Platinum caught my eye and besides the price I was wondering if anyone could let me in on any of the Pro's and Con's of the Chip vs. CFW.  As usual any and all comments are welcome and thanks for your time.

Oh by the way anyone know where to find one for less than 99.99USD? a chip that is

You can install CFW onto the slim with a Pandora Battery and memory stick. Just go with the newest m33 firmware (5.00 M33?) it works great for me

i say that cfw is better anyday.

it can be fixed if it breaks (bricked/ corrupt) - chips are broken when they break

cfw can be uninstalled easily (just reinstall ofw) - chips need to be desoldered, etc.

cfw is free - chips usually arent.

and i have never heard of that chip so i cant really help on that.

and the newest cfw is 5.00 m33-6

The UP just allows you to dual boot firmwares, but that's not needed anymore; so go with CFW.

dude, just forget about the chip. It was introduced around the time when they couldn't crack the new firmwares. Custom firmware is the way to go....
