homemade leds
« on: March 18, 2009, 09:42:42 PM »
im have evey single button on the 360 controller leded up and ready to put in the controller the only problem is the amount of wires going to the same point. i was thinking by putting on two of these http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3020764 in my controller would it work. by having all the wires hit different legs  then one of the legs go to the power or ground . then buy flipping the switch would it light up the buttons.

somebody should come to help...you just have to give it sometime, around this time its night for most/some of the population on here and members are sleeping.

uh no its not :P anyway...

first of all, that switch is unpractical unless u want to turn two sets of leds on seperately. in my diagram, flipping the switch one way would turn on the left leds and flipping the switch the other way would turn on the right leds.

but if u want to use that switch AND have all the leds turn on at the same time, then u will have to bridge the leds like so to make it so that if u flip the switch left or right all leds will turn on.

excuse my poorly drawn diagrams..

Like if u use two different power points? Then u should get some different switches. Search for spst switches at radioshack... thats what u need. Then, just connect the positives of all leds to one lead and the other lead to a power source
then do the same thing with more leds on a different switch.
