Switches
« on: March 20, 2009, 08:01:18 PM »
I was searching around to find a switch to hook up my led's to and i came across this. I was wondering how i would hook it up to the led's since there are 6 points coming out.

Ok,

1. It looks a bit big to fit in a PSP
2. It's a dual-switch, like all 3 pin on one side is one switch, and the other 3 pins on the other side is the other switch, but they are physically controlled by the same switch.

no no no... let me show you hold on.

Ok this is just for sound reactive LED mod which is what most people do. This is just like a regular 3-pin switch but it just has an extra set so you can control 2 things at once.

yea.. or just buy this switch, which is better suited to your needs:

and wire it like this:

you can replace the 5v and ground points with speaker + and - respectively if you want it sound reactive.

the one i linked to said submini so it should b e smaller than the one you linked to. Also, all radioshack switches will be fairly big. Try buying switches online or something

Actually justin, the one he linked to will work fine. It's only 9mm by 5mm. Plenty small enough. The one you linked to is bigger. They don't have the dimentions for it, but you can tell by the pic.

Ah my mistake. But you could do so much more with a dpdt switch. You could hook up 2 sets of leds and have them change color :)
