My deal with my Dad.
« on: March 27, 2009, 11:09:32 PM »
He said that if I get a distinction (A/A*) in my GCSE ICT coursework due for next half term (we have it finished, but after half term we get a sheet showing us how to get a distinction from that piece of coursework and have until the next half term before it gets sent of to the board of examiners) that I will get a 16GB iPhone 3G! So... I'm going to start actually bothering in ICT. We're only doing the core stuff, you know, Microsoft Office. The only thing that I havent come across in two terms is Databases. And we have to print screen EVERYTHING! So fustrating.

So in a few weeks, I'll have that baby!

i got an A* for my ICT CWK - i did a taxi booking system that also doubled as an acounts management system as it would out the costs and mileage etc and it had multiple logins for different people. my documentation was about 200 pages at the end of it. i did it all in excel and i had to do one in access in one of the years as well i cant remeber which year i did each but it was good. my access one was a vetinary system

i am not responsible for what i do or my advice

Ive just finished my first unit (Out of 6 for the 2 KS4 years), Im almost about to finish the second one

Im doing Pass, Merit and Distinction, so im expecting 4 A to A* GCSEs for ICT alone, then Art, im expecting probaly a A or A*, then for electronics, maybe a B, A if im lucky. You can get GCSEs for the core subjects right?

Oh yeah, the print screening, i have to do so much of it, SO MUCH PRINT SCREENING, I got so bored. In my whole unit 1 file (With all the annotations and screenshots) it ended up being 50mb, 56 pages and 5000 words...

And I have to do it another 5 times lol, thing is the tasks are so easy, its boring, like, rename a file... Delete 2 files, make a shortcut...

yes i picked music... for the soul reason.. i play drum - you have to perform (on a instrument) infront of you yeah, either in a group/band... then you have to solo. so im like hell yeah that will be easy.(im in band aswell)

well here in India, school grades don't matter at all for science students. We just need to clear the competitive exams after school. Now these exams are extremely tough. Imagine 1400k students running after   70k seats in colleges.

omg thats not fair

i work my arse off for the money to get an iPhone 3G 16GB (PAYG)

and you get one for A* in GCSE ICT?

50%+ of my GCSE ICT was playing Quake 2 LAN Games, pissing around with the projector using IRShell and trying to backdoor the school security and i still got A*. It's not hard.

You are so lucky. Seriously.

ICT these days isn't really learning about how to use computers anymore. I know A-Level ICT is just BSWAC (Business Studies With Added Computers)
