Favourite Movie... [56K Warning]
« on: March 24, 2009, 02:47:19 PM »
Post your favourite films here

Me first

By far, the first one, "The Elephant Man". Its the only movie that has actually made me cry (And Im a 'tough' guy, not tough tough, just works out a bit and rarely crys tough). If you have not seen it, I advise you to watch it (Dont be put off its in black and white, as it is supposed to be based in the 19th century), one of the greatest films ever made, the 1980 version. All the events are true, my favourite scene is either the liverpool street station scene or the final scene. He must of lived the hardest life, ever... His mother died when he was 12, hes father remarried, and they hated the sight of Joseph, so they kicked him out, and then he had to live on the streets, but because the sight of him, he just got ridiculed, then he was humilated for years to come (And abused) as a sideshow freak... If I were him, I wouldnt be strong enough to last till the age of 10...

Second Fav...

Oldboy! Much more recent, but another, one of the greatest films made. If you havent seen this one, watch it, trust me, its an amazing film (I think elephant man is better though). Basically, Oh Dae-su is locked up for 15 years, and he doesnt know why, and only has 5 days to find out, and a whole story unravels, me stop explaining, you, watch...

Third favourite?...

Not 100%, either Requiem for a dream

Or... cant really decide, so Ill say 28 Days Later

Although ive got some movies im gonna watch, im pretty much watching 1 movie a day

Tommorow I shall watch a clockwork orange

:D

So, what are your favourites?

(And yes, elephant man is the actual only movie that made me cry)

Yea elephant man is quite a sad movie. Also A Clockwork Orange. and The Movie 1984, are both badass movies. The Book 1984 was better.

Hmm, im pretty sure I have that movie in my collection, i might watch it tommorow

I saw all my fav movies on listverse, on their movie lists, and people commented that they are all must watch movies, and I agree

And with Requiem for a dream, I can play the theme on piano :D

Also about the elephant man, didnt micheal jackson try to buy the skeleton? Or has bought it?

If I could, i would love to meet the real elephant man, his quite the inspiration

Pi was great. I also highly recommend it. My favorite movie would have to Satantango a master of all fields of cinema.
