Xbox 360 modification...problem..pricing.
« on: March 30, 2009, 01:18:08 AM »
Hey guys,

I have ran into a dilemma. A person from school wants me to modify their 360. They want the following mods:

Xbox 360:
-Paint Job
-Window (Plexi glass)
-LED Strips inside x 2
-ROL LED swap

Xbox 360 controllers (He wants two done)
-Paint job
-ROL LED swap

I don't know how much to charge him...anyone got any suggestions ?

Thank you
Max

it depends, if you want to get as much as you can out of it, start high and move down from there.

if hes ur REAL friend, i would say maybe 15 for each painted controller
and 40 for the xbox

this is a rough estimate, work with him for a better price

I just want to know what the max profit is. Since it is a friend I'm trying to keep it below $80AUD but so far just a sheet of plexi-glass is costing $60 so I don't know how that's going to work out...

u can try to get a window kit for cheaper, or just be real with him and say "its gonna cost u"

also, try going for a cheaper plexiglass
i know that home depot has different sheet sizes and material types like shatter resistant/proof or glass like

Where can I get those window kits, they sound good and my home depot is dodgy. They only have have ONE size, barely any stock and the only plexi-glass which is off any quality and that you can actually see through costs $60

Kk cheers. I'll ask the engineering department in my school to see if they can give me any. How much would you charge for those mods. Considering the person is a complete stranger ?

Is that including materials ? Coz an xbox and two controllers is about 2 spray cans (I put a few coats on), so around $26 for paint, $16 for LED strips and at the moment $60 for plexi-glass...*sigh* I'm just going to have to tell the guy it'll cost more. Thanks again man, you've been really helpful

Yeah the sheet was a good 40x100 cm. But they didn't have any other sizes. I'll go back this Sat and ask if they can cut to size.
