xbox live conectivity problem

can any blody help me plz. :beg: Im conecting my xbox through my pc via crossover cable and i have a problem i have it conecting through the ip address but once it gets to the internet test ist fail and says dns sever not responding to xbox live servers any ideas. :confused:

 dont use crossover. xbox automatically changes regular to crossover IF NEEDED. maybe its not needed ummmm, idk

I use crossover cable and its fine. But I have mine running into a router. You can't run it directly into your PC. If your modem has 2 LAN ports then stick it there, if not then you can either get a router or unplug your computer from the modem and then just stick your crossover in the modem...and your off. There is a way to hook your xbox up to a computer that has wireless internet, through an ethernet cable, in order to access live.  Not sure how to do it, but I am certain I have seen something about it somewhere on the internets.

its not that hard to do, just need to reconfigure the laptop to pass through the wireless out the ethernet port. this sounds complicated, but its not, if you lap is xp+ it will do most of the work for you. here is a tut:

Its a normal LAN cable but the wires are crossed over. So the data doesn't basically crash into each other. Its used in master-master systems where they both send data. Instead of just master-slave.

crossover cable swiches conections
i'm still having problems it says my dns code arnt paching through to xbox live codes. plz help geting board with out xbox live.  :beg: :beg: :beg: :beg:
