OFW 5.50
I am installing the 5.50 firmware right now. I will be testing it to see if the recent TIFF exploit still works on it, and if the new features are worth it.
* Sub-folders for photo, music and video work, but still no ID3 info.
* Web browser is not any faster, and the only added function of the browser security is not going to make a difference.
* The layout of the XMB is the same, nothing has changed. Unless you dig deep, you wont notice any new settings.
* The info bar feature works, but is combersome. It takes up a lot of room, and is pretty slow. Much slower than the rest of the browsing. Just hop on your computer instead of waiting 30 years for it to load on the PSP.
* The TIFF exploit (phat), at least for me, no longer works. I dont know if its just me, but it worked on my phat using 5.03 OFW, but 5.50 OFW seems to have patched it! I dont have a slim at the moment, and my 3000 is still on its way to me in the mail. But I would assume that it has been patched on all three versions of the PSP.
DONT UPGRADE! Overall, its NOT worth it. Pandora of course still works, so you have that option, but if you are using the 3000, DONT upgrade. You may lose your chance to hack it with the release of the upcoming HEN!
