...

Give us details. 1, 2, or 3 lights? Secondary error code?

You can't just ask something like that without any details.

Here, you might want to check out this video tutorial of the X clamp fix. By watching this tutorial, is how I was able to fix my xbox 360 and a few others successfully.  360 Three Rings of Death FIX -REAL

dont mess around with the penny fix.  And remember that one of the most important things with RROD "fixes" is the thermal paste, make sure to thouroghly remove the old paste and to add new.

The Heat gun method tends to give the most well rounded results as 0102 covers a couple different failures.  Heat gun method is the poor mans reflowing device, and the point is to get the existing solder hot enough to become molten and "reflow" to where the solder failed before.  It can be risky tho as you can't really tell when the solder is molten, so there is risk of overheating and damaging your parts.  So when I say Heat Gun Method, I am refering to a process within the X-Clamp replacement method the helps get your connections back in working order.

Just replace the x clamps with screws and place new paste on the chips.

what type of screws do i use for the x-clamp? how should i put in the screw i saw that some put the the screws on the motherboard and some put them on the metal case from http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair/ring_of_light_x-clamp_fix.htm? When i put the paste on do i spread it around the chip? Will any kind of cpu paste work?

two lights, and 0012 are the same code basically, it means you did not do something correctly. did you use thermal paste? the codes mean your gpu is overheating. if this is happening imidiatly upon start up, that would lead me to think you did not apply the paste at all. Heat is your problem.

on another note. a friend of mine from UK did this repair. I sent him the tut found here. he hadnt been online for like 90 days, just talk in email. he did the tut, but decided the thermal past was too expensive..looked online and found that tooth past was a substitute for thermal paste LOL he did the fix and turned it on. came online, told me what he did, I laughed, he stated it was minty fresh and then poof, it caught fire..no more xbox.. LOL the mortal of the story is, there is no substitute for thermal paste

yep, your correct, but I wa assuming he got the two lights imidiatly upon start up. but yes, you are correct, you must over heat it to reflow the solder joints

0110 Ram error, this is caused by a cold or bridged solder joint on one of the Ram chips.

Not the end of the world. Check out the chips, maybe you dropped a blob of solder by accident. If it's clean, just rework the chips.
