Well right now my biggest problem(besides my  :censored: spring being broken) is every time I try to test out the razor X with all the wires soldered, one or two will pop off, then when I resodler those wires, the hot glue on the other wires comes off.  It's a lose/lose battle for me right now.  Granted, I'm just practicing until I get the 30AWG from Tri.

This mod is really starting to piss me off!  I've alread gone through 3 nubs trying to get the razor X done right.  Trying to troubleshoot exactly how much solder each point needs, which is a pain in the ass and takes a lot of time.  I have to apply a little bit of solder, then glue it, test all 4 directions, take it apart, apply solder, glue it, test it, take it apart, etc etc!!!!  It's a long process!  I'm also having trouble fitting the nub into the case, I've already shaved off what I could from the power jack, cut a hole in the frame, but it sitll isn't fitting.  I can only cut so much away from the X button.  I've even tried putting it in w/o the power jack and taking off alot of the plastic pieces to get it to fit, and it's definitely a pain!!!! ARGH!!!  I thought the hardest part would be soldering the wires to the mobo...turns out that's the easiest part.  Shoot me some advice fellas!

UPDATE:

I've moved my power jack to the left side underneath the left analog, it fits nicely and looks pretty good.  I'm still troubleshooting the right analog stick.  I'll get it working and then install it, and either a wire will pop off the solder point or the spring will mess up inside the razor X and not work properly.  Thanks to Tri-Edge for the 30AWG, the mod definitely looks better.  I've ordered 2 more analog nubs and another razor x because I keep messing them up trying to troubleshoot it.  It's definitely a long process, longer than I had anticipated.

Ahhhhh!  I just ripped my power ribbon for the power board(:censored:ing hot glue!)  This mod is definitely testing my patience.  I ordered a new one for 1-2 day shipping so hopefully I'll get it sometime this week.  I'm not even going to touch my psp until this weekend because I'm so irritated with this mod.  While I wait, I'm trying to figure out some CFW worked up.  I've been searching the web for the last few days.  I've got my pandora battery ready, but I can't find out where to start from scratch.  Most CFW mods I've looked at require another version of CFW.  I need to know "where to begin".

What I have:

Pandora battery
4 GB stick
PSP 2000 with OFW 5.50
PSP Pandora Deluxe 3.1

I know that some motherboards don't support CFW, I'll be looking at that later this week.  If anyone can give me the basic begginner steps of what to do, I gladly appreciate it (I know that this should be posted in the CFW boards, but like I said, I can't find one that starts from scratch.)

It's simple :) I can't remember step-by-step, because I haven't done this in a while, but I can give you the basic tuts that you will need.

1. Make pandora
2. Install latest vestion of DC onto a memory stick (newest is DCV8, I think? Idk.) I think PSP Pandora Deluxe will allow you to do it. Just find a guide on how to use PSP Pandora Deluxe.
3.stick your memory stick in, put your pandora battery in, and follow on-screen instructions. Actually, there should be a guide on how to use DCV8.

Loads of info can be found on psp-hacks.com

I really like where you put that.
Just one question, is it hard to plug in the charger?
I could see the actual plug hitting the frame and not be able to be plugged in all the way...

hmm I like it but I woulda put it at the top next to the wifi button on the left side from the front. Then no worrys of the hassle of trying to get it plugged in just right for it to fit all the way.

non the less *claps* great job on it.

Don't mind the body that was cut away just below the power jack ( right above the retaining loop on the bottom left) I think I did that when I was trying to figure which was the best way to run the wires.  I eventually figured that tucking the wires from the jack underneath the D-pad board and then over the motherboard was the best way.  Always test your power when you move your wires around and tuck them away and move on to the next part.

Wow that is A LOT of wiring stuffed there O_o Some cutting, quick soldering, and electrical tape could fix that :)

Yeah I know, I spent so much time on this mod that I told myself I would take a break until the weekend.  I'll trim up that excess wire when I work on the rest of it this weekend.   :winker:

Keep it up, I'm sure you'll get it sooner or later.
GJ on moving the charging slot.

I have been keeping my eye on this thread as I,too, am planning on doing it.  Just ordered the kit and clear case a few days back.  Figured this thread will help me with anticipating the common fitting problems and soldering.

Thanks for keeping us all updated.

NP.  For some reason I'm having trouble (charge not working) with the wire that I used for the power jack.  I'm using the stranded wire from a CAT 5 (LAN network cable) to extend from the power jack to the power plug in for the motherboard, not really sure why it was acting up.  Too small of a wire?!  Anyways, if you can get your hands on some 28 stranded wire, you shouldn't have any problems(I'm assuming that the wire used for the power jack is 28g, I'm just eyeballin it so anyone that knows please correct me)

Hmm i dnt think it matters what wire you use but i may be wrong. Ill try this with the wire i have 30g. kemolagger have tried placing the wire under the mobo instead of on top there actually space under it that should get in the way
