To start off.
Click here for any questions on "illegal" (on this forum) stuff

Second, If you have the newer 60 Gig model of 360, You may have to wait for a new firmware to be released. A friend phailed copying my Guitar hero DLC because his Xport wouldn't reconise my HDD XD.

the new xports will read the bigger drives from the shop. the older versions you will need to update firmware as said above. I found it was fairly easy to use,
1)plug in USB from xport to pc
2)plug HDD into xport
3)insert software disk
4)extract data
5)copy or edit data
6)rehash/resign profile data
7) reinsert data back to HDD

for just back ups all you have to do is step 1-4 only when you mod it do you have to rehash and resign
