Acidmods Page Load times

hi guys

i know the site has been slow for a while and it has its good days where it is fine and its bad days where it is really bad - i was wondering if over the next few days as you are browsing the site if you could please copy and paste any load  times you have from the bottom of topics and also the url for that page so that i can get an idea of the problem and who and where it is affecting. also when you post it just post the speed of your broadband.

so for me at the moment it is

dude the page doesn't even open on my dial up internet. I'm using my cell phone to type this.
Btw have you ever thought of moving to a dedicated host ? How much does it cost ? We have some cheap but reliable hosting solutions here if ur interested. In any case if you do plan to move to a dedicated host i can donate some amount next month...

there is a donate link on the main page, 20 members at $30-35 each would almost take care of the move and the years hosting. if that is too much please give what you can.

I understand everyone is suffering with hard economic times this year. if you cant afford to donate, please enjoy the site the best you can.

actually practically speaking, there is no way in hell i can donate any amount but i love this place and really want to help it so will definitely scrape up some amount to donate and it will definitely be atleast 20$ btw if you are interested , i can look up some hosting solutions here which are really cheap but reliable.

yeh it is a lot better now aw i was getting like 40 second long plus load times but now it is Page created in 0.659 seconds with 19 queries.

well we are still with easy-cgi and as you can tell it isnt all that stable as the load times etc are so varied, hence why i am working toward Moving us from a shared hosting plan to a VPS solution

Ok robin I understand now, I also get the varyed loading time. I hope you get together enough to swap the server, but won't that mean the site will go offline for days? and how we lost all that data?

im hopeing that the site wont go offline for days and hope that when we do we loose minimum data maybe even zero if possible but most we would loose i hope would be 24-48hrs.

but as i have said i want to save up an entire years fees first

Long load times usually end up happening when I make posts and stuff. Just loading topics typically it doesn't take that long. It's either pretty fast, or error.
