PSP-Go
« on: May 31, 2009, 12:21:26 PM »
Front page announced the long awaited PSP-Go. E3 will cover it. Sounds cool, but honestly, I'm not looking forward to it. Anyone else feel the same? This means there will be little to no development for PSP games. Not as much badass homebrew =(
I realize all systems will eventually be outdone and replaced, but they just came out with 3000 series like, 6 months ago, right? Plus, IMO, its really really ugly.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

i agree with both of you.  this thing is ugly and i sure wont be buying it and i doubt there's any way this is going to sell as well as the orginal PSP series

I may buy it if the homebrew scene dies for normal PSPs, which I think it will. DS homebrew isnt that great =/

On the plug side if the public (non-modders) take it even semi-well it means the price of PSP 2000's will probably go down  :drunk:

Like what? XD the PSP is already the best thing anyone could put in there.

what would be REALLY nice though would be to make the whole device taller so then you could put the buttons under the screen and mod a slide out keyboard down below.

pspnoobhacker, there will be quite a bit of development going for the psp.

The new one is geared for people who would rather deal with digital media than physical media.

ive been looking at the release of the GO and i think its ugly. but i have a feeling that as soon as it comes out there will be lcd replacements needed seeing as the slide screen seems unsupported and break easily. that just means more work for thoes that know what their doing. (thats the people here) but i would like to see it in person b/4 i say much else. also case mods will be a little harder than 1k,2k,3k.

I wonder how the slide feels. Like is it solid, or kinda cheap and plasticy feel.

I don't really like the look of it. It looks much more like somthing that's a toy more than a game console. If they had just made it like a regular psp but also like a sidekick(so you slide up the screen to reveal a qwerty keyboard) then it would have caught on a lot more. They could still have stuck to digital media, but make it in a form factor that they know people like.

I think it is ugly and kind of a rip off. I think that because it cost $250 that more people will be buying the Ipod touch.

Looks good, but the joystick position sucks, I don't use the PSP for much gaming anyway, Personally would prefer a folding screen instead of a slider,  Almost half the weight as 3000 and if the battery life is better i would get one.
wish it was a bit bigger
