A Look A' Like But So Much Better

Okay I am sure a lot of you have seen my topic "So I went to this party last night" Well my girl friend needs a Mac Book Pro for her college art classes but I want a computer better than a Mac Book Pro for her. I plan to build her computer as a gift. So I want to know how hard it would be to build a non-apple computer and stuff it all into a Mac Book Pro case. Any suggestions / ideas or comments?

Ummm, no offense, but that would be difficult as HELL.

Look at the size of a Mac Book Pro case.

The odds of you finding components that would fit inside of that would be pretty difficult, let alone components to already exceed what the Mac Book Pro already has.

Another thing is:
Where are you going to get the case?

Don't tell me you're going to swap out the current components inside your perfectly working Mac to try and cram in some bulky components, and possibly damage two computers in one night. That could end very, very badly. >.<

how much you plan to spend? I can arange parts arund your budget and type of computer
also is this isnt going to be a laptop righT?


edit: no way youll fit another laptop componets in a mac case laptop
its better to buy a laptop, as very few laptop builds end with suscess

There are actually a lot of computers better than a Mac performance wise. This also isn't set in stone, she simply wants a better laptop than a Mac Book Pro. She also needs one for school. I doubt that I'll try to cram anything into a Mac's case. There is no way what all I intend to use would fit now that I'm wide awake and actually think about it. As for price range I really don't care how much I spend on it, it is a gift for my girl friend. Plus, make the best now and I won't have to upgrade anything for a while

The notebook would be for performance, as well as all of her 3D Design and art related work. She's also a gamer and into comics. Having opened up my Mac now and looking at it, I know I can't do what I wanted to it. However as for the comment of ruining two computers at once, this is what I do for half a living. ^_^ So yea. No asus in a Mac.

o.O not really... Well, unless you actually know how then yea. XD Like if it isn't your profession and you haven't gone to school for it it is. What is harder is finding a place that can custom build you a case. But if you have patience you can design it yourself in a CAD program. Lots and lots and lots of mind numbing measurements.
