WTB : Some really old hardware
« on: June 23, 2009, 11:37:44 PM »
Hey guys ,
Am lookin to do some incremental upgrades on my POS PC... Its got a 1.8GHZ P4 and i am looking for a 2.8 or 3.0 Ghz socket 486 processor.

Also , as my motherboard supports only DDR1 RAM, i'm looking for 2X1 GB Ram sticks or atleast 1 GB of DDR RAM.

Please quote reasonable prices , i've got to ship this stuff to india !

Thanks

Well, If it was me, I would just try to get by with the computer as is, and then once you have saved up enough go ahead and build a budget pc. You can build a good one for under $500

Thanks for the sig dhuvrock2000

i will have just enough money for a ps3 around august. So collecting money for a pc  will take me another year or so... I just want a bit more of power... Basically ram is what is crucial. I want to run windows 7 ....

I have the same problem you do. I have an old P3 with 512 MB of DDR RAM, I've been looking to add more for a while but the stock prices are so ridiculously high I've just been holding off. It's also not my main computer so I've not been concerned about it.

It has 2 sticks of 333 MHz 256 MB DDR RAM. I use the comp for testing OS's and doing kernel modifications. Dunno if that RAM will do anything for you.
