Offical acidmods art team management comp

This comp will be run on the *date to be confirmed* for 2 weeks in which time the participants are expected to finish all the tasks in order to be judged. All art team members who do not enter risk being demoted, and all non art team have the chance to become green. I have sorted out all the tasks, which will be displayed here at a later date (these are open to change so if you have any recommendations then pm me).

All are welcome to participate, don't worry about skill to much, we also look for the determination to complete it in the time provided.

if you are not on that list and want to enter, don't fret. That list was only to get the required support to host this and you can just post your entry's when the time comes.

Mega update:
It begins today, this thread is now just for information and questions on the competition. To post your entry go to this thread https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=31258.0 (entrys can be posted one task at a time and you can change your entry as much as you like until the closing date)

TASKS:

Task one:

design a signature and avatar combo for mactastic mendez
Theme: Freestyle (what ever takes your interest, or you think robin would like. Obviously with mactasic mendez in it) ((HINT: https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=30283.msg224186#msg224186))

Task two:
make a pc desktop wallpaper and a itouch wallpaper which compliment each other but are not exactly the same. (do some research to find out the appropriate sizes)
Theme: Acidmods, points for creativity (remember it doesn't have to be modded consoles)

Task three:
Mock up a acidmods forum page completely from scratch, this should include a unique banner.
Theme:err acidmods

Task four:

make a mock up of a electronic item, eg. computer, tv (can we please have no ipods this time, be creative). Built from scratch, no templates/images which were not created by you. I wan't to see your use of gradients and shapes. !!UN MERGED PROJECT FILES WILL NEED TO BE PMed TO ME!!
Theme: Your choice

I think that is enough. Keep it all appropriate for a family forum. Try not to use tutorials, if you do then post a link to it with your entry. If a art team individual has a valid reason for not entering please PM me if you want to keep your green.

Tasks must be completed within 2 weeks from June 26, 2009, 09:12:28 (forum time).

about umh 2-4 weeks moving in 2 days to toronto about 3000km far then finding a place to live etc..getting a connection ..so yea

yup, go ahead. I added something to task for the project files will need to be pmed to me only for task four. eg .psd or .xcf

just don't merge any layers if possible, and when saving the final image save it both as a .psd and a .png

I just merge my layers out of habit, as soon as I'm done with a certain section.

A lot of the stuff I do in Photoshop requires me to work with multiple layers combined, (A.K.A merged), so I merge them. I know there are alternate routes, but that's the habit/path I've gotten used to.

Or you could convert them to a Smart Object.
Basically merging them, but you can still export the layers from it.

Like I said, there's many ways to do it. I can convert them to a smart object, apply the same effects to the layers separately, highlight the layers and do it that way... I just don't.

It's not the way I learned, and I'm in a habit. xD

Arg I got family coming over to stay for the holidays and am going away, I should still be able to run this but Im not going to enter anymore.
