I like the Clean Stock look. In a year or so if PSP2 hasnt hit i may do like Black buttons or something.

Am I weird for realising that the top left was a Slim because it wasn't modded with either software or hardware? I didn't even look for the speaker holes...

Hey guys I just decided to join Acidmods.

Loving all your PSP mods, I only got mine 3 weeks ago and a few days later I became intensely interested in Modding, any consoles pretty much, I like making things look nice/unique ^_^

Questions. Is there a difference in the sound reactive LED mod between using the Audio Amp. IC and just soldering the led's straight to the speakers?

Question for f00f00, could you make me the chip with the resistors and open leads attached and the whole thing insulates so that I can just connect it up to my speaker and then the other open leads to my ground and my LED's. I'm sure I could make it myself but I'm worried about short circuits and blowing my motherboard or something completely improbable, but things happen.

right now I have a stock white PSP, I bought s clear case for it and pink chrome buttons, we'll see how they work out otherwise i'll just use the transparent buttons. thanks to f00f00 for having a post mentioning coolmods, otherwise I would have bought a cheap case from hong kong or somewhere.

Welcome to modding! You won't regret it. The difference between the direct connection and the IC is that the IC will be more reactive, and will only be on when the music is going. Good on you for researching, I love it when people realise that you have to research before asking. Kudos!

Thanks slimby, I like to know what I'm doing, even this "Personality Profile" I did recently says "likes full job descriptions" which I totally agree with :P. I've been through Llama's website, rapidrepair, coolmods, psphacks.com, a number of others and I find you guys too. I've been looking around and reading lots of different guides and information for a good 2 weeks.

Any way to make the LED's more reactive without the IC, if not I'll have to talk to f00f00 about making up an IC with resistors and some wires coming off it for me to solder to. He's done it, he could insulate it and make sure there's no shorts for me, soldering wires together and insulating them i can do but not a little IC with the legs so close together. I've had these tremors in my hands lately and I can't stop it..anxiety :S

Would hate to break something. Can you find 2 good videos for me showing the difference between sound LED's with the IC and without so I can see how much of a difference there is, I might not mind doing without the IC.

Anyway I don't think this is the thread we should be having a discussion but I have so much I want to talk about, can we take it to msn? I'm scared that I might get annoying so PLEASE tell me if i do.

I know it's shocking sometimes, but there are other modders out there, f00 isn't the only one. Actually F00 is the hardest one to get, pretty busy man. Anyway, search through this thread alittle, Zal posted a video of a psp that had the LEDs directly connected, Optix did it too.
Oh by the way, the clear cases from coolmods.co.uk are the same as the one from hong-kong, Dealextreme,psparts.nl etc etc, all the same case.

I know f00 isn't the only one, but like I said I'm new and f00 and cyberpyrot are the only 2 that I know have done the IC mod. Anyone else who's done it I'd be really happy to talk to you about maybe paying for an already made one.

yeah f00 is usualy really busy with modding and im currently researching new tech. But as for a creating a insulated package there are many guy here that are extreamly talented more so then me

If you as around im the one known for breaking

but usualy because im working on somthing never done befor cough ***psp blender*** cough.. but if you need help soldering and what not there are some guys here who can walk you through it...

Well I got my A2D boards in the mail today and couldn't wait to put one in my PSP. It took me a few hours to get it all together and installed. Putting the A2D board on the nub was cake, making it fit correctly into the PSP was a little bit of a pain in the

. Well, I got it working perfect on my first try.
Since I removed the AC plug, I cut a piece off one of my broken faceplates and sanded it down and used epoxy to glue it in place covering up the hole where the plug was. Here are some pics.
