Well a bag COULD have static and shock your mobo, but idk.

You're sure everything's plugged in properly?

I just got over this same problem. In my case my DS3 quit working as if battery dead. when plugged in all lights would flash as charging, however that is all it would do. Well being the electro-mech tech that i am, i tore it apart and was destined to know what the hell went wrong. My DS3 would not do anything except light up once plugged in. My problem in this case was in the ribbon from the front buttons to the motherboard, the PS button wire run (i traced all runs in ribbon and until i found this one) was broken somewhere and not signal not reaching mobo to turn on unit nor sync. So once isssue narrowed down went and bought new unit, swapped out ribbon and returned unit. Worked great and now my DS3 back in full service.
Best of luck to you and hope this helps you. I would definetley advised to look up the TP tut and verifying proper signals and voltages on mobo.

Please refrain from mentioning using something for parts and returning it as that is illegal and AcidMods does not support illegal acctivitys.

Thank You

there is a strange 3 pronged piece that fell out of my controller, i have been partially successful in fixing the controller, but the whole controller apart from the home, start, and select buttons, is going berserk..., if anyone has any advice, that would be great...

Update: I fixed the controller, the problem was with the board, so i just switched it out with my other controller, but i would still like to know about the 3 pronged piece, because i dont know how to put that one back...
