you know it's probably an actionscript just to show the colour you chose, and the house you chose. then whatever it denotes from that, it shows in the the door you click.
yes, yes it does. If you notice on the first grid of coloured numbers. Pick one. Then note down all the other ones of the same colour. Hover over the house with your number in it, and see if any of the other numbers of the same colour (in the first grid) are in it. No they're not. Therefore, it can't be any of the other ones, and it must be the one you chose. AS there are are 5 houses, you can therefore also figure out, that there are one of each colour (according to the first grid) in each house, and a 6th number that didnt exist in the first grid, to throw you off. The coloured box and crystal balls are just 'start' functions to go to the next page.
