reliable power and ground on controller
« on: July 22, 2009, 01:22:43 PM »
hi, i've just done the led home button mod for my sixaxis controller and it works like a dream, but the tutorial i was following is for the old sixaxis pcb and the new one doesn't have the same port, so i was wondering is there pics for the new style pcb for a ground and power source and for the dual shock 3 aswell??

and this sites tutorial for the rapid fire mod says theres 3 different types, http://www.ps3court.com/images/mods/controler_led/controller9.jpg

but this guy says theres 5 diff types http://www.brianspdr.com/ps3insturctions.html

can someone clear this up for me and cofirm if the first tutorial is reliable for a power and ground,

and for thoose who are intrested, i used this tutorial for the led home mod http://www.ps3court.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2845

thanks, what voltage is it?? i have an A in A-level electronics, all though i barely remember anything from it, but i didn't use the typical 5mm LED, i used some SMT LED's i had lying around from when i modded my psp so i stuck a 10 ohm resistor to be safe and thanks for the info

ok, the 1206 SMT LED i had worked fine with 5V and a 10 ohm resistor and the power supply from the battery is 3.7V so i knew it would be fine with the 10ohm resistor but if it's low enough so i don't need the resistor thats great, so the led is brighter but i'm not to keen on powering the circuit board when it's disassembeled incase i short, but i will give it a try
