Finally finished my custom Xbox
« on: July 17, 2009, 12:31:45 PM »
This has been sitting around for about a year so I finally decided to finish it up. It has a lot of features/modifications. Here's a list (This is my first case mod by the way)-

Painted everything glossy black
2 Plexiglas windows
DVD drive cut out
1 blue, 1 green cold cathode on either side of the Xbox
On/Off switch for cold cathodes in the back of the Xbox
ROL (Ring Of Light) LEDs changes to 2 blue and 2 green SMD LEDs
ROL fades when the Xbox is off; is normal when the Xbox is on

Here's some pictures and a video-

EDIT: Forgot name-

Any feedback is welcome :)

Smashing job Ghost, I would like to do something like that minus the lights to mine, including the cut out drive.

Agreed, you should soften he edges and try to hide those big wires, looks silly. Put them under the fan shroud ;)

Other than that pretty sweet 360 :D

OK thanks for the feedback. I'll keep that stuff in mind when I start my next one.
I also noticed that I'll have to spend more time with the corners. What do you guys use to get them to look really nice and clean? The file I used took forever and didn't really make it too good of a cut.

use a "bastard file" to shape then sand paper, start near 60 grit for further shaping, with a sanding block, then move up to finer grits, to smooth for paint. but it looks very good !!

Since I have 2 Xbox's I'll probably sell this one. About how much would I get for this? I have no clue because I don't really see to many on Ebay and I've never sold one before.
