Question about direct contact led.
« on: July 18, 2009, 01:42:34 PM »
So, I've I'm tight on scheduled, about to leave in  a week.

I'm going to do direct contact led on the psp speaker.
What is the risk of direct?
1) Will the speaker blow up or the led
and I'm using green 0603 , no need resistor I guess.
I know the LED life time will be short, but idc and plus I can de-solder it from the speaker right? by applying heat to the joint.
reply asap because I'm going soon.  Thanks for your help guys.

Uh... Actually, you could probably damage the speaker and maybe more if you wire it up wrong/short something, but direct contact LEDs are easy so you shouldn't have a problem.

Ok, I've done the mod:D Going to do some testing.
Here's a picture of my psp, please comment on it  :tup

Oh, I also heard electric noises jumping  in the led connection, but it won't short my mobo because the led is touching the plastic trigger so it can't short my mobo since it not touching the surface or the mobo.

LM386 MOD when I come back from vacation woot.

Looks nice :) You should also swap the power LED to blue to make it look even nicer.

After like 30-40minues of game play, the psp just turned off.
And it hot. Is it possible of short? or just  overheating issues

Well 3.71 m33-4 cfw for me, sometimes  in middle of game it just freezes.
And no it never happens until i install the led O.o and the heat shrink never removed.

The psp is cooled down with a fan. I switch the power to on and then it shuts off. I'm thinking it a short, if it is can I just remove the led and my mobo will be fine?

Post Merge: July 19, 2009, 06:56:34 PM
No! It not a short I'm 100% positive.
How? The led wire only contacts the speaker and touching the plastic trigger so it impossible to short out(correct me if I'm wrong)

2) When I was playing game with led on , I used  a 3.6v 2200mah extended Sony battery
and then i pop in my original 1800mah and it worked.

Could the 2200MAH be over charged?

edit: I think I solved it, I might have pop the battery door case slightly open that enables the heavy battery 2200mah to drop.

Thanks for your helps guys really appreciated it.

Yeah I do,

Setting for game speed is  333/166 >.> maybe put it to default? or 300/150 i guess it won't hurt that much.

LMAO this time i really know the problem.
It not overheating, short, battery, o/c cpu speed fault.

I had my led not in drill in the trigger but I stuck it in and the led got hot so it was touching the part where the battery contact is in the back of the psp. I tapped that area and psp shut off.
Which tells me the LED is heating up the battery pins. :P Guess i drill the trigger.
