no i didnt unplug it at all, it was in the whole time untill like a coupel hrs ago when i was tryin to get some pics from the drive

I used PCLinuxOS 2007 to retrieve files of a dead flashdrive, it took some time to screw around with but i finally got the stuff necessary off of it using that.

so basically i dont reboot the pc or anything? i just write the image to a disk and just run it? after its done its just an app and i just run that?

No did you even read what I said?
You BOOT INTO THE DISK and it runs the OS. Just google it if you can't understand.

well nvm i found a program, it found only part of the files i need
