Would you buy a PSP Removable/External UMD Drive Kit?

I am not talking about like mass quantity's but like a one of a kind kit (only one available) and it was all ready to go, you just had to is solder wires from the ZIF breakout boards to the connectors and it's ready to go. Also how much would you pay for it? Here's what would be included in the kit:

  • Brand New OEM PSP Slim UMD Drive
 
  • Custom External UMD Drive housing
 
  • x2 18 pin one of a kind breakout boards for the ZIF connectors to make soldering a breeze. ZIF Connector's
     pre-soldered on factory quality solder joints.
 
  • x2 8 pin one of a kind breakout boards for the ZIF connectors to make soldering a breeze. ZIF Connector's
     pre-soldered on factory quality solder joints.

  • x1 30-pin iPod Female Connector Breakout board and connector already soldered on. Factory quality solder joints.
 
  • x1 Metal 30-pin Male iPod connector with all wires already soldered on and inside a casing, and shrink tubing

  • x2 New UMD Doors for the housing

  • x2 FPC Cables (8 & 18 pin count) to attach to your Motherboard to prevent any solder accidents, then you are out
     a motherboard.

  • Printed high-detail plans/directions to assemble
 
  • x1 METAL Custom made hinge/latch to make the drive clip onto the back of the PSP for a nice clean look.

  • x6 (x4 extra thumb screws) to fit exactly onto the top of the PSP to clip the drive on

  • All UMD assembly parts. Clips, spring's, sliding pieces H-frame etc.

Sounds interesting and helpful for any body that doesn't have the UMD drive in there PSP. Sounds quite cool. How much would this cost?

Sounds quite useless. Nobody wants an internal UMD drive, so why would they want an external one? O_o

And i don't get it either. draw up a diagram of how everything is wired.

see.. actually I was going to do this but I wont be able to finish it for personal reasons so I was seeing if anyone would maybe be interested in buying it.

Personal Reasons: My parents think my modding hobby is too expensive, so I am selling one of my slims to put some $$ back into my bank account (once finished my final mod on it) and I will only have one other slim which is still stock but I cant mod that one (read above why I cant mod it ^^).

So my modding days aren't over by far, just for the PSP (more or less).

makes perfect sense to me.... people take out their UMD drives... they get a UMD somewhere that they want to play.... plug in external UMD drive and play said UMD.

I guess if people just download games instead of paying for em, it wouldnt make much sense.

or if somebody took the umd drive out to put in the photofast adapter they can use this to rip games to their psp without another psp thus avoiding the wait to download.  Not everybody has 2 psps you know  (I do but that's besides the point  )

I know chives i get that part, what i dont get is how he proposes people get the zif from inside the UMD door to the thing on the back... I wouldn't think anyone would cut a hole in the door just for it.

Why the hell is there ipod connectors, i thought this was PSP...

Why is there more parts then needed? 2 UMD doors? What is this for... 6 Screws, you only need 2.

You wouldn't take out your UMD drive if you plan to play UMD's...

Not really because the PSP go doesnt have any Zif's to plug directly into for this to work... Its not possible unless you redo the whole motherboard and firmwares to support it.

the ipod connector is there so you don't have to plug in a flimsy zif cable.  it's there for support and  for looks.
