Good computer....bad gameplay :S
« on: August 02, 2009, 01:38:15 AM »
Hey guys,
I just got Prototype. Settings are all maxed out. Problem is I cannot go above 60FPS even if I set everything to low...still 60 FPS only :S and on top of that it lags every now and then and I just overclocked my i7 to 3.33 Ghz...weird much ? I have a 9800GTX + , Core i7 3.33Ghz, 3gb RAM DDR3 1600Mhz...I don't know what the problem is...

Thank you
Max

Update your drivers?  I know nvidia just released new ones on 7/21/09.  Had a lot of new goodies in it....

With a little bit better graphics card, you could get unbelivable fps. May I recomend a gtx280?
Also make sure you have the latest drivers, they make a huge difference. There actually was some type of software that you can get that cuts out the background processes while you are gaming, I dont remember what it was called though.

Your also running 3gb ram, and  512mb graphics card. You dont have top of the line so dont expect top of the line gameplay at everything maxed out. oh and ur cpu being over clocked so far doesnt really mean much if ur not multitasking.

But even if I put everything on low...it still lags and FPS still stays at 60Fps :S....I'll try updating the drivers.

Turn off V-Sync ;) V-Sync limits it to 60fps ;) oh and don't get higher then 150fps ;) It plays very weird when you have really high fps

To all of you crying about lag and kicks, remember… when Jesus died, took him 3 days to respawn. Now THAT is lag.

What kind of resolution are you running the game at, a 9800 isn't top of the line.

When I put everything on high its 60...when I put everything on low its 60 lol. Right now I got it running on max resolution...don't know it exactly but I've played with that two...setting it lower didn't change anything either...I read somewhere that if you disable some of your HID's in device manager it some how boosts FPS :S....take a read:
