I need and update!

i had an account about 2 years ago that i completely forgot, and i really havnt touched my psp in about 2 years, that said, i have no idea what to do about updating my psp's system, i went to dark alexs website and its pretty much blank, why is that?

here are my psp's specs:
firmware: 5.00 M33-3

There are 2 updates, 5.00 m33-6, and 5.50 GEN.

DAX has taken a break from the PSP scene, so there is no DAX cfw later than 5.00 m33-6.

5.50 GEN is the latest update.

Downloaded licenced games, and yes to my understanding you can. I personally have yet to upgrade, but if I'm not mistaken you can.

i personally stick with M33 but if you use the Playstation Store then i would go to gen.

ok thanks, but whats the differences between gen and m33?
also, do i just run the gen update on my m33 psp if i want it?
