Help Push To Light Buttons

hey can someone help me on how to make push to light buttons plz. i was guessing i hook my led up to the 5v power source then hook it up to the button pad but i wanna ask the experts first.

There's no 5v source.
I'm pretty sure (Don't quote me on this, though) that you have it correct. I think the LED + gets hooked up to the power (anywhere, really) and the LED - gets wired to the button gnd.

Again, not 100% sure.

if you have 5v your using a wired controller.

You have to use a common ground controller for this mod, matrix wont work very well.  By using a common ground, when you make button press you are connecting the side of the button that the controller looks at to ground.  So simply hook up your LEDs between +V and the side of the button that is not ground, so that when you press the button it makes a ground connection not only on the controller input, but on the LED negative thus giving you a button that lights up when you press it.

thx i kinda figured thats the way i do it but i thought the power source when u turn on the controller by the mic/headset adapter was 5v. mabye not im not sure but thx.
