DS Lite Flashing, Failed.
« on: September 21, 2009, 06:12:16 PM »
In the middle of flashing my little sisters DS Lite (using FlashMe), her thumb it the power button. Here is a little reenactment:

Startup DS

Select the FlashMe Homebrew icon

Press X,B,X,B (like it said to)

The progress beeping started

beep   beep   beep   beep   beep

BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP-...(silence)

Me: eek...

:censored: :censored: :censored:

sister: :cry2:

in my mind: (Wait, FlashMe comes with fail safe code!) :w00t:

Startup DS (nothing) :eyebrow:

Startup DS (pressing start+select)

My DSTT loading screen comes up... :yess:

Waiting...

Waiting...

Waiting...

Nothing.

Does the DSTT need the DS Firmware to start? My AceKart 2i is coming in a week, so I hope that will work without the DS Firmware...

Is there any other possible way to get my DSTT to start so I can repair my sisters DS? :beg:

Also note that it can still play games though..

Thanks to anyone who answers! My sister thanks you too!

I don't know if you can fix it.  It all depends on where your at in the loading if the fail safe can work. Remember the fail safe doesn't always work.   But I do know you can still fix the ds lite if you order a new wifi/bios chip.  It shouldn't cost more then $20 and is really easy to install.

Like I said, my DSTT card won't start because I think it relies on the firmware. It was also really cheap, with not much features. But my AceKard 2i is coming in, and that has way more built in features. It technically should work, because every DS game I've tried works...

After doing some research I learned that instead of buying a new one, I can do the following steps:

1. Take out the Bios chip from the bricked DS, and from another working DS.

2. Put the working Bios chip into the bricked DS.

3. Start it up.

4.Start FlashMe or NoFlashMe

5. Take out the good Bios chip and put in the bricked one.

6. Short the terminals on the back like you normally would with FlashMe.

7.And that's it...

So does that work? Some people said that the wifi doesn't work after that...

I don't know.  Guess you have to try it out and see.

Idk if that works but I can sell you a BIOS chip... I'll just need to double check that it works xD
