and hence why I dont trade in games. but on top of thing I know a better way to piss off the people working there. So this one day my buddy and me went to gamestop and he was gonna trade in a game. They went through their little inspection crap and told him they would give him $2 for it. I looked at my buddy and shouted "I'll give ya $3!" and slapped the money on the counter and he yelled "sold" and the manager just stared at us ans I walked out of the store with my new $3 game

I went t0 gamestop with 130 PS2 games they counted them all up added all prices and offered like 30$. I said NVm took my games and left. lol

you should of gone threw asking them the individual price for each omne

also as one store in the uk found out that most people will go to where the game is cheepest as they pissed me off about 2 years ago when i just got my iphone and offered me a measly £10 for 25 psp/ps2 games so is walled around the shop going to people and doing price comparisons for them on my phone and telling them the cheepest place to get it and most people were like thanks and walked out the store i was kicked out after 15mins they wernt to pleased when i kept going back in over the day

I sold about 30 Xbox games (original) and an original xbox. He offered me £20. I said no, took the xbox home and it's now in pieces on my floor.

When I was a little younger and a whole lot less wise I took nearly 60 Super Nintendo games to Game Stop or Game Crazy. I can't remember which. Well, first of all- I didn't have my parents permission to trade all these games. Well, I pick out a game for the PS2 that I wanted and it cost like 23$ and I take it to the counter with me. The clerk ends up offering me 20$ for all my games and my friend whom I went with gives me the extra couple dollars to pay the tax. Well when I got home, literally the same day. My neighbor at the time, offered my mom 5$ for every game and she wanted them all.

That was a bad day for me. The following weeks were not that great either. The game I bought sucked. Chaos Legion. Since then, I don't trade games. I collect them now. I have literally 306-308 PS2 games alone.

Interesting point, however I am pretty sure that it is a fairly big deal to talk about burning games here on acidmods, when you don't have the original. <.<; You'd think a mod would know that it's illegal and against the rules.

I can say as a collector I wholeheartedly agree with that video... Okay maybe not the whole thing. I disagree that it seems like it comes down to the employee. I am the Assistant Manager at an EB Games and I honestly have zero control over trade credit. I'm not allowed to give more or less and I really don't appreciate it when customers treat me as though it's my fault. I always just tell people (off the clock of course, they do pay for my modding!) to sell them locally or just keep them. Trade-ins are rarely worth it unless maybe we have one of those "Play it for a week" deals where you can trade the game in within the first week for full store credit back.

My Manager gets almost every game on play it for a week. He beats them in that week and then picks them up in a few weeks when they get to a price he thinks is reasonable. I can honestly say it's one of the few trade promotions that is worth it. Although I did do a trade 3 get a DS Lite free, same could be done for a PSP 2000.
