psp memory stick would not read

 I have a problem with my memory stick reader on my psp slim. So I decided to take it apart and I found a prong had broken off. Since I had a another non-working psp slim I decided to remove one of the prongs and solder it back on but it still would not read.
Any help? Thanks in advance
