light up the d-pad today, I have never seen anyone do this before, I thought having just the LEDs in the 4 buttons would make it look bare on the left side where the d-pad is located...

took about 2hrs to do, had to figure out how to fit everything, and how to make it still function...

LED count: 27

so far...

That looks brilliant.. I was expecting holes in the dpad, like the buttons, but actually the light around them makes it look even better..

ya just wanted to make it glow, and I couldnt drill holes in the D-pad, not as much room to do it either, I had to hack some of the controller to make room for the LEDs. There will be no more updates till I recieve my LEDs from Phenoptix, or my chip from Sickmods.net

I hope they come here this week so I can finish this weekend...

Pardon my language but there's honestly no way to describe it otherwise.

Holy :censored:, it's amazing.

Beautifully glowing, great colour/light balance. Creates great contrast on the 2 tone paint job, if you had graphics as you originally planned, it would look overwhelming.

Inexplicably amazing. Best controller I've ever seen.

Controller play time? Lol. Im guessing 30 minutes.

Looks pretty good though. You should get some proper single core wire though, it will be much easier to solder to TP points like that.

Yes but that'll be the sexiest 30 minutes of playing time ever.

how good is the ps3 battery, I hear its 1800mAh... theres at least 30extra leds in that controller, thats 30x20mA=600mA, therefor if there was nothing else running off the battery you could get 3hours out of it. But... thats not including the amount of current the actual controller requires.

But I agree with Kitsune that would be the sexiest playing time ever. I must admit that controllers appearance is the sex/

It's too bad you destroyed a perfectly good controller...
A little more planning and actually thinking about it and you might have had a chance of doing a good job.

Well he really didn't have a choice of where to put it. Anywhere else and it would look downright ugly. Where he put it is a pretty discreet spot, that's not the first spot you look at when you see the controller. It doesn't stick out a whole lot.
