LED Heart for girlfriend.
« on: August 22, 2009, 07:22:01 PM »
I want the LED to pulse, or at least flash.
I started working on the 555 timer circuit tonight for it. Its about halfway done.

note: the circuit is not yet on the board, so it looks like complete mess, bear with me, i have no breadboard.

only pic sofar:

You could turn it into a keychain with an on and off switch so she could put it with her keys...just an idea, =D

The heart is 5(1/2)" x 4" and containing 150 LEDs.

I doubt it would fit on a keychain.

Whats the plan of attack?
Power Supply?
What are you going to use to switch the LEDs? Looks like you have some transistors?

Let me know if you need a hand, this is right up my alley.  Might even be able to come up with a .hex of a heart beating fading in and out :winker:

Have a look here

Pretty similar to what you seem to be trying to achieve.
There was another guy on that site who did a beating heart LED tshirt that no doubt impressed the lady in his life!

I saw those. Im trying to stick to just using a 555.

If someone would like to program a different chip for me. That would be great.

If you would like to get really complicated you could make the LEDs flash randomly with a 4017 CMOS Decade Counter.

Here is a Diagram i found for you:
*You Can Substitute the Schmidt trigger on pin 14 with your 555 Timer Clock circuit you already built.
